Why images save as WebP — and how to get a JPG
A file extension is more than a name. Here is how to get a real JPG.
Why the format changes
Websites can deliver WebP versions of photos to reduce transfer sizes. The format you save can therefore differ from an original product photograph.
Renaming is not conversion
Changing .webp to .jpg only changes the filename. Use a converter that decodes the original image and creates a new JPG file.
The quick workflow
Save the image you have permission to use, open it in PixelPort, choose JPG and convert. Transparent areas become white. Inspect the result before uploading it elsewhere.
