Your iPhone photo looks great. The next app just cannot open it. Drop the HEIC file into PixelPort, choose JPG, and convert. The decoding happens on your device. No image upload. You get a real JPEG, not just a different filename. Keep the original for Live Photos, metadata, and later editing.

When PNG is the right choice

PNG is useful for workflows that specifically require it. It often creates a much larger file than JPG for photographs. Exporting a compressed HEIC to PNG does not recover details already lost in the source.

Convert, inspect, save

Choose your HEIC, keep PNG selected and convert. The preview shows the result and its dimensions. Check the file size before downloading, especially for camera originals.

Size limits work differently for PNG

The quality slider does not control PNG compression. To reach a byte limit, PixelPort needs permission to reduce dimensions. If you need the exact original dimensions and a very small file, consider JPG or WebP instead.
